Trip to Boston

Back in October, I went to Boston for the night and visited Juliette.  We went on a walk through the park in the morning, and went shopping on Newbury Street afterwards.  Juliette's roommate Jenny came with us, and took some pictures for us as well! The park was beautiful, the fall foliage was bright as it could be.  We saw ducks and geese along our walk.

Juliette wore an oversize white shirt that she studded herself, black gladiator sandals, and a black dress.  I wore a peplum shirt, lace shorts, statement necklace and tights all from Forever 21, and sliver flats.

Fields & Rivers, Late Afternoon

The same weekend of Birthmas, Juliette and I went to a field and river in her town.  The river was calming, and the water was warm.  I had fun running through the field of dandelions, and wading in the water.  The way my dress fanned out around me as I stood in the water was amazing, though I did keep thinking that fish or plants were touching my legs.  The colors were beautiful in the late afternoon, and the mountains in the background were gorgeous.

Juliette wore a shirt she made herself, a dark red high-low skirt, taupe wedges, an assortment of bracelets, and in her hair, feathers.  I wore a taupe maxi dress, turquoise sandals, and feathers in my hair as well.

First Snow

Yesterday was the first real snow in Ithaca! It was sticking to the ground, and was lovely.  I got so excited that I grabbed my camera and ran outside, ready to take pictures.  I called on my friend Ryan to go take pictures with me; he is a photographer and blogger as well.  Our friend Ghage came along with us, to sing us songs of the season.

I think that the first snow is always the most exciting and anticipated of the season.  Even having lived in New England all my life, I could barely contain my excitement at seeing the fluffy white flakes falling from the clouds.  Over the past few days it's been a few flurries on and off.  I woke up yesterday and heard someone mention "It's snowing!" and jumped towards the window.  To my disappointment, it was only a couple of flurries which would not be able to stick to the ground.  But late afternoon yesterday, I looked out, and the snow was falling andcollecting in a thin layer on the ground! So very exciting.

Around Ithaca

In September, I began my first year of college in Ithaca (why I haven't posted in 2 months). I've made the most wonderful friends, and so far our adventures and escapades together have been memorable.  Most of them are communications students, cinema & photography; a major which I am seriously considering. One of my favorite places to visit is the Commons.  It's a nice way to temporarily escape the homework, papers, and assignments given in all my classes.  Photography also helps escape from all that, something I have been extremely grateful for.
A dish of caramels in a wine coaster I found at a flea market.

Some earrings and other things I can't live without.

A view of downtown Ithaca from a parking garage.
Cornell is in the background.

A cafe I've been meaning to go to, along with a sign pointing to my new favorite movie theater.

Birthmas 2012

A while back, Juliette and I did our yearly Birthmas celebration.  Birthmas is a combination of our birthdays and Christmas.  We celebrate Birthmas because we live 5 hours apart and don't get to see each other on our birthdays (or Christmas).  We did what we usually do for the celebration: made cupcakes from scratch (the frosting was from scratch too!), had a photo shoot, and a picnic.  As always, we celebrated in Maine at Juliette's house.
